Description / Review

The third issue of the Underground features a really snazzy behind-the-scenes article on the Sony Manufacturing plant where the Sony CDs are made. If you watch closely you can see the game Power Slave being shrink-wrapped for shipment right before they cut to the Underground Demo Disc cycle.

Trivia
  • The second disc contains the conclusion of the Final Fantasy VII team interview that started in issue 2.

  • Funny thing about the whole Analog controller feature; it never came out. Nintendo brought up a suit due to the 'single shock' design of the PSX controller being too similar to their N64 Rumble Pack Equipped controllers. Sony simply added two tumblers to the bottom corners of the controller, and released the new design as the "Dual Shock" controller.

Of important notice: the single shock was released in Japan, and featured an extra mode option that made it emulate the original flight stick layout. It also had indented analog sticks and a longer shoulder length.

  • The Blasto feature shows footage of the late and great Phil Hartman doing some of the voice-overs.
