Review
Probably the only wrestling game I can get into for longer than 5 minutes. W:TAG is a button mashing, side-splitting, special move, and combo fest where real wrestling is tossed aside for huge, exaggerated moves and bizarre animation that would never happen in real life. Imagine if the NES game Pro Wrestling was given a second life, with Mortal Kombat style moves tossed in. Doink can shock players like Stryker, Razor Ramone has arms that become like Baraka's, and so forth.

It's a tad harder to find, but attainable, and usually damn cheap in the wild. Pick it up, it's a great play for a few minutes.

• The people in the background crowd were interchangeable by Midway. Here in Chicago, local radio 'shock jock' Eric Mancow Muller was in the background near the crowd center. In other versions there was a censored character eating something on the far left. Various programmers are in there, and still are for the home version. 



• The arcade versions could be converted over from Mortal Kombat 3 boards.
   


• Most of the design team is the same creative staff that handled NBA Jam, NHL Open Ice, etc. 



• There's some beautiful subtle animations in the game. For example, keep an eye on Bam-Bam's outfit. The flames on his jumpsuit will actually pulsate and come off it, making it look like he's on fire.
