It's not just racing!

It's an all out assault of arcade style, stunt-based and realistic driving madness. Comprehensive state-of-the-art vehicle dynamics. Authentically licensed cars: Lotus, BMW, Aston-Martin, Ala-Romeo, and more. One of the most advanced 3-D driving engines ever. It all gets inside your head and spins you around. And when you're finished, it's time for another ride

Discussion
One of the best looking, romp style racing games on PlayStation. The control suffers a bit, but if you can push through it, the ride is wild and fast.

Trivia
  • Also released on the Dreamcast.

  • The game's name came from a promise that it would be the first racing game to have no 'pop-up' in the distance - that is, to have graphics suddenly 'pop' on screen like very early PSX and Saturn racing games had. The programming team pulled it off, but with a small bit of trickery. There is indeed no visual pop-up, but that is because you're never given a chance to see the true vanishing point of your view. The farthest point is always blocked by a tunnel, a hill, a building, a turn, etc. This isn't to knock the accomplishments of the designers as the game looks amazing; it's just to show that even the simplest of tricks can prove the most successful.

  • PS2 and Xbox Burnout racing fans will get a kick out of some of the collision physics. Besides bumping into NPC vehicles, you can sometimes gain some humorous amounts of airtime if you collide just right (2nd row, last picture).

  • Holy crap...this is the first Acclaim release I've ever seen that doesn't have Exclamation pointed comments under every screenshot!
