Description / Review

A basic but very competent game of Tennis. Features Tournament and Free Play Modes. Allows up to 4 players play against each other in one-one or two-on-two, with the PlayStation able to control any on-screen characters who lack a human counter-part.

Graphics and game play can actually be compared to the original Super Nintendo's Super Tennis, though truth be told I think the SNES characters didn't look as bizarre as some of Tennis' roster looks.

Tennis games don't really do well in the US, and Tennis itself was no exception. For the $2 to 5 this game usually goes for in the used shops, if you're looking for a cheap way to raise a little racket, this will fit the bill nicely.

Trivia
  • Tennis was also available in a 3 for 1 Value Pack distributed by Tommo. Pack #4 contained Putter Golf, Tennis, and Boxing

  • The Tommo 3 Games in One Pak sets are not official releases by Sony standards. All 3 games are just their individual retail versions slapped together in a cardboard sleeve by Tommo Distribution. Official Sony bundles, known as "Collector's Editions" have all new packaging, one sku, and new PSRM / ID Tag numbers

  • Tennis, like most of the other A1 games, is a  US conversion that came from Japanese Publisher D3's 'Simple Series.'  The Japanese version is called The Simple 1500 Series Vol. 26: Tennis..
