Description
Think you got a game?

NBA Live '96 brings championship gameplay to the PlayStation console. Stunning graphics, coll cd music and realistic strategy make it the future of interactive hoops.

Review
I'm not sure how this would be viewed by real sports video game players, but taking a look back now only instills a bit of giggling and pointing from myself. While the game still retains some good playability, it looks like you're playing with poorly drawn lego characters on a polygon court.

Trivia
  • Variant Release, see below.

  • For those newer gamers who know EA life through their non-existant manuals in the newer consoles, in the older days, they used to include pages of move diagrams, stats, and play books. Hence why the manual is so large for this game.

Greatest Hits
This title was never released as a Greatest Hit.
.

Variations / Misprints
There is one variant, and that is the double jewel case version. At only one CD, it needs the bigger case for the over-sized manual.

PlayStation 2 Compatibility - Fast Load
All times are rounded up to the nearest second. Tests are performed on a PlayStation 2 Slim Line with 1.11 PS Drivers.

Standard
  • Boot to © Screen- 18 sec
  • Between Menus - 2 sec
  • Menu to Game - 15 sec
Fast
  • Boot to © Screen- 12 sec
  • Between Menus - 2 sec
  • Menu to Game - 24 sec

You save 6 seconds on the Boot Screen, and then for whatever reason the Fast Mode just stalls on the Menu-to-game transition.

PlayStation 2 Compatibility - Smooth
With the smoothing option on, there's barely any difference. No reason to waste the time turning it on.
