Description / Review

The Japanese version of King's Field II gets released in America as King's Field 1. Final Fantasy fans fear another numbering system gone haywire.

I played this game for 20 minutes, and could not get past anything. A review will have to wait. =)

Enclosures

The original long box release came with a phone card. A compete package looks like this:

Trivia
  •  King's Field is from the same company that created the Armored Core series, From Software.

  • This is really the Japanese King's Field II. We USA folks never saw the original.

  • There are so far 3 known release variants for King's Field. See variants below.

  •  An odd discrepancy in the Memory Card Save Icon; The original and jewel case versions show "2-15 Blocks", where as the second release simply lists "15 Blocks." Considering the rest of the jewel case's artwork matches up with the original, it would seem that this was just a small oversight on the packaging artist grabbing from the wrong illustration file.

Greatest Hits
Never released as a Greatest Hits.
Variations / Misprints
There are so far 3 known variants for this game. First up, we have the original two long box versions: With Phone Card, and Without.

The Phone Card box has the 'pink jeweled' sword on it, with the text based Ascii logo. On the back, it has the little burst star to let you know as well.

The final version was released to the jewel case format. It uses the original release's graphics but the second release' s copy.

So far the hardest of the three to find is actually the stupid phone card.
