Review
A decent action game where you control Jackie Chan in the hopes of recapturing a stolen item. The game plays out like Double Dragon with an emphasis on platform jumping as well. While the game does have several bright spots, like Jackie's humor, the controls leave something to be desired. There's also a sense of repetitiveness that comes too early in the game to make the rest of it as enjoyable as it should be. Worth a once through, and not much more.

Trivia
  • There is a file on the CD that is read as a Fax Cover sheet.

  • Jackie Chan provided the motion capture

  • There are several cameos of other real life Jackie Chan projects. For example, in the opening cinema, as Jackie comes running out of the noodle shop, you can see a poster for one of his Chinese movies.

  • Despite 4 different video game console incarnations, Jackie Chan has only ever been realistically captured in the arcade game Fists of Fire. All other releases have him as a cartoon.

  • Interesting history piece: The game's artwork prominently features the twin towers from New York city. In real life, Jackie Chan was originally going to have a movie made called Nosebleed, in which he played a window washer at the WTC that stops a terrorist plot. The movie was cancelled due to September 11th.

  • Let Jackie just stand there for about 20 seconds, and he'll start practicing his moves.

PlayStation 2 Compatibility - Fast Load
All times are rounded up to the nearest second. Tests are performed on a PlayStation 2 Slim Line with 1.11 PS Drivers.

 Standard
  • Boot to Title - 7 sec
  • Skip movie to Stage - 9 sec
  • Load Stage - 24 sec
 Fast
  • Boot to Title - 6 sec
  • Skip movie to Stage - 6 sec
  • Load Stage - 18 sec

I'd recommend the Fast option simply because the reloads the entire level each time you die. Those 6 seconds saved add up.

Game loaded fine with both options turned on.

PlayStation 2 Compatibility - Smooth
With the smooth option on the game gets a nice polished look. Nothing extreme, but you can tell when playing it.
