Description / Review
So here we have you in the armored vehicle of your choice, going up against other heavily armored cars and you need to drive like crazy to get to the finish line without being killed off by your opponents or the track. That's right, the track.

Bullfrog would lead you to believe it's because of all the little walls and gat-ling guns they have set up on the various tracks; in reality it's because the graphical draw-in is so bad you can't see the track. Most of the cars don't control well, either.

The poor control could be excused were the road not so short, but when the two are combined you have what is essentially a very poor man's Wipeout.

Trivia
  •  Hi-Octane has a case variant, see below.

  • One of the Team names is "Foo Fighters," currently unknown if it has any relation to the band of the same name.

  • One of the Other teams name is based on the company that created the game, Bullfrog.

  • Talk about not being able to get things right. On the long box version, the Memory Card icon is missing, but on the jewel case version, the number of players is incorrect!

  • Between the two, the jewel case version is the harder one to find.

Greatest Hits
This game was never released as a Greatest Hits.
Variations / Misprints
Hi-Octane was released in both Long Box Jewel Case and regular size jewel case.

The jewel case spines have the title logo completely flipped from the long box, while several pictures and one picture description got cut from the back.
