Trivia The game features an "instant kill" system where you can literally kill the other opponent in one shot, at any time in the match. Squaresoft has a similar concept in Bushido Blade.   Many characters mimic the look of famous US heavy metal singers, including Axel Rose and Billy Idol.   The "Gear" in the title refer to the characters; they are non-human characters with specific powers.
