Description / Review
What do you do when you have one of the most successful real time strategies of all time? You make a sequel, that's what!

Red Alert continues the C&C tradition on the PlayStation with 2 CDs spanning 24+ missions, where each disc represents the Allied Forces or the Soviets. Use managing skills to lead your forces to victory over any terrain and situation.

Trivia
  • John Milford, who plays Albert Einstein, had a role in a the 1980 TV Series "Enos."  Coincidentally, the term ENOS would be used again 16 years later as one of Sony's catch phrase slogans: ENOS ('Sony is Ready', written backwards).

  • The original print run was distributed by Virgin Interactive. The Review Variant version was distributed by Electronic Arts after they acquired Westwood Studios. See the Variants section below for more info.

  • Barry Kramer, who plays General Nikos Stavros, had a small roll in the movie The Scorpion King.

  • Joseph D. Kucan, who plays Kane, has appeared in every Command and Conquer game except for the expansion to C&C: Generals.

  • Dom Magwili, who voices the Interrogator, played a Security Guard in the movie 50 First Dates.

  • PlayStation is the only US console in C&C history that featured more that one game from the series. Versions of the original game also appeared on the Saturn and Nintendo 64, and only the PS version supports the System Link feature.

  • One of the few games out of the entire PlayStation library that does not support the Memory Card. It uses Passwords only for its Save Data.

Greatest Hits
This game was never released as a Greatest Hits.
Variations / Misprints
Ah yes, the good review blurb. Companies like to see good reviews for their games, and why not show it off by reprinting the good bits on your case? C&C: Red Alert has a single review variant, in which the front cover is now graced by an Electronic Gaming Monthly score, causing the "Mouse Support" Logo to be moved.

On the back side, there are four main differences. The fine print has been re-done, the last two bullets in the descriptions area are re-written, and the barcode also now supports the ISBN number.

Lastly, the ESRB rating has been changed from "Realistic Violence" to "Animated Blood and Violence".
