Discussion Now to be fair, the characters are only there for the Super Moves to be illustrated. As shocked as I am to say this, Air Hockey is actually a surprisingly fun time waster. If you look at it from a sort of 'super' Pong angle, you realize just how dead-on the puck physics really are. Half the points in the game are you scoring on yourself, just like in real life. It'll quickly bounce from the corner, and you can trap it with the right timing. The game's a roller-coaster too, if you look at the scores in the above screenshots. Once you start getting the hang of the analog, you can ramp up 30+ points in the allotted time, if not more. The on-table power-ups help keep things interesting, if a little hectic. The game quickly pauses to announce a score and then restarts with no warning; in the middle of a three puck break you can instantly forget where the other two were when you return. Pleasantly surprised by
the great physics, and laughing at the piss-poor translations and
character designs, you could do worse than Air Hockey. But I
guarantee you, those games don't feature four characters.
