Description / Review

The original flight "sim" game come released on the PlayStation, based off of the arcade game. Make your way through 17 missions with eventual access to 16 different aircraft. When you're sick of flying sorties, you can go head-to-head against a friend in 2-player dogfight mode.
Trivia
  • Jewel case variant. See below.

  • Based on the original arcade game Ace Combat. Why the name change no one knows, but it may have to do with certain copyrights, since Namco had to perform a similar task later in life. Their arcade game Soul Edge had to be renamed Soul Blade in the US.

  • The only game in the series to be renamed. All subsequent releases have retained the Ace in the title.

  • Many people confuse this game as being the game tied to the release of the Sony PlayStation Flight Stick, when in reality it was tied to Bogey Dead 6's release.

  • There's a neat hidden mini game buried on the disc, and you can read about it back on Digital Press site here.

Greatest Hits
This game was released as a standard Greatest Hits.

Variations / Misprints
Both regular releases forgot to add in the Memory Card support icon. The Greatest Hits version corrected this.
