It's Action Man - the ultimate 'Action Hero'. See him come to life on your PlayStation console in this fantastic, fast paced adventure of thrills, spills, and edge-of-your-seat excitement.

One of the best kept secrets on the console. Blitz Games delivers a shockingly good game based off of the Hasbro toy line. You play Action Man, the kids equivalent to James Bond but with more emphasis on the goofy villains than sultry ladies.

There are 3 genres of game play present; car chases, action sections, and then random mini-game areas, like sniping. Tracking down Doctor X's henchman in the car sequences will have you driving around a very detailed city from t a top down perspective. As you track down criminals, you'll also be on the look out for hidden icons to collect as well as vehicle specific areas. Can't fit the Action Car into that alleyway? Go track down  the 4 x 4 or cycle to make head way. Finding icons through out the game will help unlock other features.

Action stages have you running around collecting items and taking on bad guys using an arsenal of items. Oddly enough, the game plays out like a rather stream lined Metal Gear. Remove the stealthy stuff and replace with more frequent item hunts and sniping sections, and you get the idea.

Solid, if not perfect game play is supported by beautiful graphics and sound. Blitz made sure to keep the textures crisp and clean, the levels laid out in a no nonsense fashion, and never dull. If you have your PS2 in component, it's even better. Voice-overs for the characters are your usual cartoon lot, but the main characters do give it their all, even with the cheesiest of lines.

If you're looking for a fun little game to pass the time, pick up Action Man. You'll be glad you did.
