PlayStation Early Years: The
Super Famicom PlayStation
For your Eyes Only

A long history to an even longer history First and foremost, please accept my apologies for the water-marks. When I first ran these pictures last year, I wanted to make sure they were not used by outside sources without proper identification. Considering how many eBay auctions have used my images, you’d understand my concern. I had intended to provide un-marked images the following month once the bloggers and thread wars had finally settled down. Sadly, two things happened that were out of my control; the first was that the releasing of the photos sparked what undeniably was an insane amount of verbal abusage on web pages and blogs everywhere. Grown adults were bearing torches and screaming for blood all based on an image. Due to the stature of the sources, both owner and messenger, I was and am still not allowed disclose the sources; think of it like an honorary NDA. This was made even more adamant after the amount of psychotic “discussion” that plagued the World Wide Web. Second, soon after the article appeared, I got an interesting e-mail, addressed directly to me and it contained a well versed article concerning several parts of my web-site, but more importantly personal info that only someone who had conversations with me would know. Asking if I would like to partake in a new venture, I clicked the contact link only to watch my computer turn off and suddenly go into a Trojan induced crash spin. Oddly enough, thanks to my having just moved my portable hard drive contents to the PC so I could reformat the optional drive, I literally lost everything. Perhaps it was both fate and an unimaginable lucky break for the culprit. Especially considering the time frame in which it all happened. This included the original, non-watermarked images. If I ever have the chance to acquire them again, I will, with the sources’ permission, gladly post them for you all. That all said, again I can not stress this enough; these are real photos of the real product. I have spent too much of my life dedicated to this system, this collection of mine, to ever try and whip up some sort of fake product. Things in development don’t always bear resemblance to their retail product; things that are CD based in a consumer’s hand don’t always start out life as a platter in the development side. Someone who is crowned the Biggest PlayStation Fan by Sony does not screw with them or insult their intelligence. These images were provided in good faith from their owners, and I both uphold and honor their request for anonymity. Perhaps someday down the road, when The PlayStation 5 is peeking over the horizon, we can bask in all the glory that hides within this beautiful grey box. Until then, I leave the debates open to you.
